At the center of the project sits its defining architectural gesture.<\/p>

Large expanses of black mosaic wrap the spiral staircase, creating a sensation similar to a rotating lunar field.<\/p>

Dark, immersive and slightly surreal, the staircase becomes more than circulation \u2014 it becomes transition.<\/p>

Movement upward becomes a shift in emotion.<\/p>
