Macau

The mural is an artistic work created by Mr. Liao Wenchang, a highly respected member of the Chinese Artists Association and vice president of the Macao Fine Arts Association. With his unique artistic perspective and exquisite skills, it vividly reproduces the historical style and humanistic memory of the New Road and the New Central Hotel in Macao. This work is like a picture that travels through time and space, affectionately and delicately outlining the vicissitudes of change and prosperity of Macao in the past 100 years.

In this work, Mr. Liao Wenchang cleverly takes the New road, an important street bearing the traces of Macao’s modern history, as the visual main line, and carefully portrays the unique charm of the equestrian-building complex, showing the urban texture under the integration of Eastern and Western cultures. As the focal point of the picture, the new Central Hotel stands in the middle, its historic architectural image reflects the urban development and change of Macau in miniature.

In addition, Mr. Liao Man-cheong has also skillfully integrated many of the most famous and important figures in Macau’s history into the painting, who either left their footprints on the bustling New road or played a legendary story in the New Central Hotel. Through artistic narrative techniques, it not only records the material landscape of the city, but also deeply explores and expresses the profound cultural heritage and humanistic spirit of Macao, so that viewers can feel the colorful and magnificent historical chapter through the picture. Production difficulty

The depiction of real portraits is a test of the craftsman’s accurate understanding of character structure modeling and the craftsmanship of Mosaic inlaying

The fine and thick colors of realistic oil painting need the support of rich Mosaic color inventory, and individual colors need to be specially fired

Fragmented Mosaic performance is easy to fall into local areas, and the overall color hierarchy of the picture needs to be controlled by the supervision site in a macroscopic and detailed way

Construction difficulty

The whole mural is blocked by an elevator, and the construction space is 15CM, which cannot meet the construction requirements on the site. The elevator blocks part of the Mosaic and the construction is first positioned on the aluminum plate, and the rest of the site is completed by wet paste method. The pattern needs to be stitched to complete the construction, the positioning accuracy is high, and the construction is difficult.
